Alumni Honors and Awards

The Dickinson State University Alumni Association annually bestows awards and honors to individuals who have excelled within their field or have shown tremendous support and dedication to the university. Currently, the Alumni Association bestows the following honors:

Alumni Fellows Program – Awarded in collaboration with the Academic Deans and Chairs and the President’s Office to recognize alumni members who have distinguished themselves in their careers. The goal of the Alumni Fellows program is to bring successful alumni to campus to meet with the students and faculty to share their expertise in the classroom and in informal settings across the campus.

Past Alumni Fellows

Golden Hawk Award – The highest recognition presented to alumni of Dickinson State University. Selection is based upon professional achievement, significant contribution to the community, state or nation through public service, and loyalty to Dickinson State University and its students.

Young Hawk Award – Recognizes recent graduates of Dickinson State University who have distinguished themselves in their personal and professional lives. The objective of the award is to generate interest of alumni who have graduated in the last fifteen years and provides a vehicle to increase the involvement of younger alumni in the activities, services, goals and objectives of the Alumni Association.

Blue Feather Award – This award is given each year to individuals who have made significant contributions to the University. Recipients need not be alumni of Dickinson State University, but have proven their support of DSU by helping to improve the institution through dedicated service, promotion, financial support and other efforts.

Past Alumni Awardees

Outstanding Graduate Award – Awarded to a male and female graduating senior from Dickinson State University. Recipients are nominated by their department and the award winners are chosen by the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Graduating seniors nominated for the awards may complete their informational sheet on-line.
